EIG doubles down Web3 tech development for gaming by investing in Callisto Network

Esports Innovation Group (EIG), has made a ‘significant investment’ for an undisclosed amount in blockchain layer 1 solution Callisto Network, which we believe is the perfect protocol for the future of gaming and esports. This investment follows our announcement earlier this year of an initiative to incorporate blockchain technology into our existing Web 2 solutions and develop new products for Web 3. At the beginning of the year, we significantly increased its Web 3 developments ranging from blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) to metaverse solutions.
Following this investment, EIG’s founder Michael Broda has been appointed CEO of Callisto Network to bring the blockchain company to new heights within the gaming & esports industry. Since leading esports.com to be successfully acquired by Pro7Sat1, Europe’s largest media house, Michael has invested in and led companies such as; ESPL a global amateur league for esports with investors such as 500 Startups and Warner Music Asia, and EIG’s company ECON, a partnership alongside the DACH region’s leading media company B&M Marketing, an exclusive partner of Axel Springer.
We have developed a Web 3-enabled esports platform for Volkswagen-owned sports club VfL Wolfsburg along with our newest product, the ‘Gamers Passport’, branded as the ‘VfL Gaming Pass’. The ‘Gamers Passport’ aims to be every gamer’s personal account connecting them across the gaming ecosystem. Gamers will be able to sign in to any Web 3-enabled platforms, synchronise and feature their collections, display achievements, receive rewards and even create their own NFTs. These Web 3 tech developments were built on the Callisto Network. Using Callisto’s P2P NFT protocol, gamers will also have more control over their digital items, allowing them to trade directly with one another without the need for an intermediary.
